Clear shopping cart if buyer doesn't purchase after X hours
Wormy's Recycled Books
I see another major problem with this approach:
* Buyer puts item in cart (to ponder, wish-list, wait for offer, whatever)
* Cart is cleared automatically after 24 hrs.
* Buyer again puts item into cart
* Cart is again cleared
* Buyer gets frustrated and leaves PB
Sellers: You can not make your life more convenient by trying to control the behavior of the buyers. All you'll succeed in doing is frustrating the buyer and sending them someplace else. After all, do you like to shop someplace that places a bunch of restrictions and conditions on you just for shopping? What would be your reaction if you were told: "If you don't buy within a certain time, we're taking everything from your cart, putting it back on the shelves, and you'll have to start all over?" My bet is most of you would walk away and never return.
Your role, as a seller, is to serve the customer in whatever manner it takes to make the sale (or decide the sale isn't worth it). It is not the customer's role to provide you with easy and convenient income.

Thanks for the feedback! Our research shows a lot of buyers use their cart like a wishlist while they wait on PangoBucks, an offer, or a sale to come through.
That said, we hear you on the clutter. We recently added Save for Later, so buyers have a way to hold onto items without them sitting in the active cart. One thing worth reframing, those saved-for-later items will still show as "in cart" on your end as a seller, but think of that as an opening, not clutter. It means that buyer is still interested. Sending them an offer is a great nudge, and often the thing that gets a sale over the finish line.
